August Meeting

  • Arlington Heights Village Hall 33 South Arlington Heights Road Arlington Heights, IL, 60005 United States (map)

Join us for our monthly meetup of amputees, where we gather to share stories, support, and learn from each other. Whether you're a recent amputee or have been living with limb loss for years, this is a safe space for you to connect with others who understand what you're going through.

GUEST SPEAKER:

We’ll be joined @ 7pm by Hannah Kane, Senior and Disability Social Worker and ADA for the Village of Arlington Heights. Hannah will be sharing insights about the role of ADA Coordinators and how they can support advocacy and access in our daily lives in every community. She’ll also highlight some of the most helpful resources she uses in her work for addressing accessibility concerns, along with information on home modification supports, funding options, and statewide programs like the Premise Alert and others.  If you have family or friends that would benefit from hearing what Hannah will be sharing with us, please feel free to invite them to this month's meeting.

Our group is open to all amputees, regardless of age, gender, or type of limb loss. We welcome individuals with congenital limb differences, amputations due to illness or injury, and those who have undergone elective amputations.

Whether you're looking for information, inspiration, or just some friendly faces, our monthly meetup is the place to be. Join us for our next gathering and discover the power of community in the face of adversity.
